Southern Lighter'd                  

    Fatwood kindling or lighter'd as it is known as here in the South is as much a part of

 Southern culture as grits and collard greens.  Lighter'd comes from the heart of Southern

 longleaf pine trees.  Heart pine is the very core of an old growth pine tree that is rich or

 "fat" in naturally  flammable resin.  When the vast forests of native longleaf pines were

 cut  in the South, stumps were left in many places and didn't rot because of the high

 concentration of this resin.

     Our lighter'd is taken from the remains of the stumps found on our farm  in Northwest

 Florida.  It is 100% natural with no chemicals or other toxic additives.  It ignites faster

 and holds a flame longer than inferior types of  kindling, and it fills your home with a
